EUROPE INSTALLED 19.1 GW OF NEW WPP LAST LAST YEAR

In 2022, Europe installed 19.1 GW of new wind energy capacity, of which 87% are land-based wind power plants. (16.7 GW on land and 2.5 GW at sea). In general, Europe already has 255 GW of wind energy capacity, of which 225 GW are onshore wind turbines, 30 GW are offshore wind turbines.

The countries of the European Union have 204 GW of wind energy capacity, of which 188 GW are on land and 16 GW are offshore. The largest capacity of new wind power plants was installed in Germany - 14% of all new installed capacity, in Sweden (13%), in Finland (13%), in France (11%). Almost half of the offshore installations were installed in Great Britain, and France installed its first large offshore wind farm in 2022.

In total, 489 TWh were produced by wind farms in Europe. The European association predicts that during 2023-2027, an additional 129 GW of new wind power capacity will be installed in Europe.

In 2022, Ukraine installed 83 MW of new wind power capacity. At the same time, 75% of the entire installed capacity of wind power plants in Ukraine (1.8 GW) is currently not working.

Ukraine received a powerful autotransformer from Lithuania

As part of cooperation and assistance in the reconstruction of the energy system, Ukraine received from the Republic of Lithuania a powerful power autotransformer, which will be installed at a high-voltage substation of the electricity transmission system. It transforms the voltage from the main line to the distribution level and can provide power to up to 200,000 households.

The transportation of this autotransformer to Ukraine was the largest logistical operation ever coordinated by the EU Civil Protection Mechanism.

Ukrgazvydobuvannya received more than 62 tons of equipment from Sweden

This week, the Ministry of Energy sent to Ukrgazvydobuvanny JSC a batch of powerful generators and electricity accumulators with a total weight of more than 62 tons. This energy equipment is another help of Swedish partners to the energy sector of Ukraine. Sweden actively supports Ukraine in the restoration of energy infrastructure facilities.

In total, since the beginning of the full-scale invasion of Russia, this country has transferred more than 665 tons of energy equipment and materials.

The Verkhovna Rada adopted a law on the development of electric charging infrastructure

The Verkhovna Rada adopted the Law of Ukraine "On some issues of the use of vehicles equipped with electric engines and amendments to some legislative acts of Ukraine on overcoming fuel dependence and development of electric charging infrastructure and electric vehicles." The draft law was developed by people's deputies of Ukraine together with the Ministry of Energy. The law eliminates the gaps in the uncertainty of terms in the field of electric transport, and ensuring the development of electric vehicles and the infrastructure of charging stations for electric vehicles is determined by the priority of the formation of state policy in the field of road transport.

The issue of placement and connection of charging stations for electric vehicles, earthworks, laying of power transmission lines, and the provision of services for charging electric energy storage systems are also regulated in accordance with the Law of Ukraine "On the Electric Energy Market".

It is assumed that on public city bus routes in cities with a total population of more than 250,000 people, the number of electric buses as a percentage of the bus fleet should be at least 25% on January 1, 2030 and at least 50% on January 1, 2033.

Sumy region's energy workers received 113 tons of equipment for restoration work

On February 22, the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine handed over 8 tons of energy equipment to JSC "Sumyoblenergo" for restoration and repair works. In total, under the coordination of the Ministry of Energy, more than 113 tons of equipment from international partners were handed over to Sumy Oblast's power plants. The cargo transferred to "Sumyoblenergo" included batteries, generators, power transformers and other materials.
