On November 18-19, 2024, the Department of Power Supply students participated in the 9th National Conference of Young Energy Professionals (OKME), held at the Innovation Center of Warsaw University of Technology. This event, organized by the Scientific Circle of Energy Engineers at Warsaw University of Technology, is the only one of its kind in Poland, bringing together representatives of leading energy institutions, companies, and young researchers.
The conference program was filled with student lectures, panel discussions, and presentations of scientific and research projects. Department students Yana BOSENKO, Anastasiia KHORENKO, Yuliia ONYSHCHENKO, and Elizaveta TUPOTINA presented the results of their research on the following topics:
- Ukraine's energy sector during the war and prospects for post-war recovery.
- Optimization of biogas production from food waste: impact of substrate amounts, temperature, inoculum, and reactor design.
During the event, the students could exchange experiences with their Polish colleagues and learn about the perspectives of leading energy market players on a fair energy transition. Panel discussions organized by Poland's largest energy companies provided an excellent platform for addressing challenges and solutions faced by the energy sector.
Particular attention at the conference was given to critical issues in energy development, as the European market is currently undergoing significant transformations. Experts and students together discussed innovative approaches to integrating "green" technologies into modern energy systems.
This event became an important step in the academic growth of our students, as it allowed them not only to present their work but also to gain new knowledge and expand their professional network.
