The Department of Power Supply’s development focuses on training specialists capable of addressing reliable electricity supply, efficient energy use and the restoration of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure. Education, research and cooperation with companies are centred on modern electrical engineering technologies.
Education
The Department provides bachelor’s and master’s training in speciality G3 “Electrical Engineering” within field G “Engineering, Manufacturing and Construction”.
- “Electricity Supply Systems for Consumers” — an educational and professional programme at bachelor’s and master’s levels.
- “Energy Management and Energy-efficient Technologies” — an educational and professional programme at bachelor’s and master’s levels.
- “Energy Management, Power Supply and Engineering of Electrical Systems” — an educational and research programme at master’s level.
Current programme versions, curricula and syllabi are available in the Department’s study programme catalogue. Earlier documents retain speciality 141 “Electric Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Electromechanics” and the programme names in use when they were approved.
Development Priorities
- Quality of education. Updating courses to reflect industry developments, research findings and proposals from students and employers.
- Smart energy systems. Research and practical study of Smart Grid, local energy supply systems, distributed generation and demand-side management.
- Energy efficiency. Developing methods for energy management, energy auditing, and monitoring and analysing energy consumption at industrial and municipal facilities.
- Practical training. Using laboratory facilities, working on real engineering tasks and involving companies in specialist training.
- Research and international cooperation. Participation of staff and students in research, academic mobility and professional scientific events.
