During 1994-1997, he studied at the doctoral program at the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute (Kyiv). (During this period, the Kyiv Polytechnic Institute was renamed the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute").
From 1997 to 2002, he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Power Supply at the Institute of Energy Conservation and Energy Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
At the same time (during 1999-2001), during a foreign scientific and pedagogical internship, he worked as an associate professor at the Department of Electric Power Engineering at the University of Antioquia (Medellin, Colombia).
From 2002 to 2003, he worked as the head of the Department of Strategy and Economic Policy of Energy Conservation of the State Committee of Ukraine for Energy Conservation. At the same time, he continued to work part-time as an associate professor at the Department of Power Supply of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Kyiv Polytechnic Institute".
In 2003, he returned to the position of associate professor at the Department of Power Supply of the Institute of Energy Conservation and Energy Management of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute", where he works to this day.
In 2018, he defended his doctoral dissertation and received the scientific degree of Doctor of Technical Sciences in the specialty 05.14.01 "Energy Systems and Complexes".
During 2019-2021, he participated in the international project "Preparation and Implementation of a Second-Degree Joint Study Program - New Generation Energy (New Generation Power and Energy Markets)", which was funded by NAWA (Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange) under the KATAMARAN program and was aimed at creating and implementing a joint educational program of international studies under the double diploma program between the Warsaw University of Technology (WTU) and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute.
Scientific interests
The main areas of scientific activity are the development of methods for managing consumer demand for electric power and energy in energy systems, as well as methods for controlling and analyzing the efficiency of electricity use at production and economic facilities.
Main achievements
- A methodology for setting electricity tariffs differentiated by time periods was developed (based on this methodology, electricity tariffs differentiated by time zones were established, which were in effect in Ukraine from 1995 to 2019);
- A concept for creating a multifunctional system of electricity tariffs in Ukraine as a means of managing energy consumption in market conditions was proposed;
- A methodology for building and operating systems for operational control of energy efficiency was created, based on the application of methods for mathematical modeling of electricity consumption volumes and methods for statistical control of product quality;
- Methodological foundations for the application of probabilistic-statistical methods for building electricity consumption balances in conditions of insufficient and unclearly defined initial data were developed;
- The concept and methodological foundations of the construction and operation of integrated systems for monitoring the efficiency of electrical energy use at industrial and economic facilities have been proposed.
- A methodology for the construction and application of a mechanism for targeted control of electrical power consumption modes has been created, which, due to the establishment of a fee for the configuration of consumer load schedules and its targeted direction, allows achieving significant alignment of the daily load schedules of the power system.
Educational work
Conducts lectures and practical classes with undergraduates. The main disciplines he teaches are: "Analysis of energy efficiency", "Methods of energy efficiency control", "Integrated systems of energy efficiency control and analysis".
Supervises the implementation of undergraduate coursework, their work on the preparation of master's theses. Supervises pre-graduate practice.
Reviews undergraduate certification works. Participates in the work of the state examination commission for the defense of master's theses.
Participates in the work of the commission for the acceptance of entrance exams to postgraduate studies at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Supervises the work of postgraduate students on their dissertation for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy (PhD).
Total experience of scientific and pedagogical activity is 46 years.
