On 13–14 October 2026, the Department of Power Supply at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute began its outreach campaign for prospective applicants in 2027.
With support and co-organisation from the Khmelnytskyi Nuclear Power Plant administration, meetings were held over two days with more than 1,200 school pupils in Netishyn, Slavuta and Ostroh.
Department representative Vitalii Pobihailo presented study opportunities, admissions information and professional development paths through the following programmes:
- Energy Management and Energy-Efficient Technologies;
- Electric Power Supply Systems for Consumers.
The meetings provided an opportunity to talk directly with prospective applicants and their parents about study organisation and conditions, career opportunities after graduation, and international academic mobility. Their many questions demonstrated young people’s interest in energy engineering and in professions that will shape the reliability and future of Ukraine’s energy system.
This was the second time the department had joined such a large outreach initiative with Khmelnytskyi NPP. The cooperation contributes to developing the future workforce of Ukraine’s energy sector.
The department thanks Volodymyr Hudz, a representative of the Khmelnytskyi NPP administration, for helping organise the meetings and develop the partnership. We also thank the administrations of Netishyn, Slavuta and Ostroh, and the leaders and staff of the participating schools, for their hospitality and support.
We were pleased to meet talented, curious young people who may become the engineers and energy specialists working on the recovery and development of Ukraine’s energy system.
Department of Power Supply — educating those who will shape Ukraine’s energy future.
