On 16 October 2026, an environmental initiative brought together the Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute community to make the campus greener. Around one hundred young oak, birch and pine trees were planted in the university park.
Students, university and faculty representatives, the trade union and university facilities staff joined the initiative. Representatives of the Department of Power Supply took an active part, led by Head of Department Olena Borychenko, who also helped plant the trees.
Olena Borychenko thanks the organisers, university leadership and everyone who combined their efforts to protect and expand KPI’s green spaces. Such initiatives make the campus more welcoming and demonstrate a responsible attitude towards the environment and future generations.
Each newly planted tree is an investment in the university’s future and in a comfortable environment for study, work, walks and recreation.
We hope the young trees take root successfully and help make the KPI campus greener and more welcoming in the years ahead. Caring for our university today means building a greener future together.
