The journal is founded by the National Technical University of Ukraine Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute. Approval for issues to be printed and distributed online is granted by the Academic Council of Igor Sikorsky KPI.

The editor-in-chief of the journal is Yu. I. Yakymenko, an academician of the NAS of Ukraine, Doctor of Technical Sciences, honored scientist and engineer of Ukraine, and laureate of State Prizes of Ukraine.

The journal accepts original articles of scientific and practical value. Each author is allowed to submit only one unpublished scientific article per issue.

Thematic focus of the journal: energy efficiency and conservation, smart information technologies and systems in energy, cross-sectoral issues and system research in energy, liberalized energy markets, energy security, Smart Grid systems and technologies, monitoring, diagnostics, and control of energy processes and equipment, production and conversion of thermal and electrical energy, computational modeling in energy, electrical stations, networks and systems, thermal energy utilization, electromechanical energy conversion, optimization of processes and designs of energy machines, metrological support in energy, reliability forecasting, durability and lifecycle of energy equipment, monitoring, diagnostics, and control of energy processes and equipment, fuel and energy complex development forecasting, renewable energy sources and their conversion, environmental issues in energy, reduction of harmful emissions from energy facilities, fundamental issues of solid fuel use, efficient gas utilization, energy conservation, diversification of energy supply sources, and energy independence of Ukraine's economy.

The core principles of editorial policy include relevance, reliability, validity, scientific novelty, and innovation in the published articles. All submitted manuscripts undergo double-blind peer review.

The editorial board includes 22 doctors of sciences from Ukraine in relevant fields (including 15 full-time staff from Igor Sikorsky KPI) and 12 international experts. Each field represented in the journal has at least seven scientists recognized in the relevant field, matching the journal’s scientific profile. All these experts, including the editor-in-chief, have the necessary publications in journals indexed by Scopus and/or Web of Science Core Collection. The total citation count for articles in the journal on Scopus and Web of Science exceeds 300 references.
