In the period from November 10 to November 16, 2018, a project meeting was held between representatives of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management (IEE) of the National Technical University of Ukraine "Igor Sikorsky Kiev Polytechnic Institute" (the Igor Sikorsky KPI) and the Faculty of Technology, Natural Sciences and Maritime Sciences (TNM) of the University of South-Eastern Norway (USN). The meeting was held in Porsgrunn, Kingdom of Norway, within the framework of the SIU project "Norwegian-Ukrainian Cooperation on Research Based Education in Innovative Sustainable and Energy Efficient Systems" (ID: CPEA-LT-2016/10044) between the Igor Sikorsky KPI and the University of South-Eastern Norway.
The purpose of the project meeting was to achieve the goals and objectives of the project "Norwegian-Ukrainian Cooperation on Research Based Education in the Innovative Sustainable and Energy Efficient Systems” as well as the development and improvement of the courses, which will be taught in the IEE of the Igor Sikorsky KPI in English, for the third cycle of studying in the direction of innovative, sustainable and energy efficient systems.
From the Ukrainian side, IEE Director Professor Sergii Denysiuk, Project Coordinator Associate Professor of the Power Supply Department of the IEE Halyna Strelkova, Head of the Power Supply Department of the IEE Associate Professor Vladimir Popov, Associate Professor of the Power Supply Department of the IEE Myroslav Strelkov took part in the meeting.
From the Norwegian side, the participants of the meeting were: TNM Dean Professor Morten Melaaen; Deputy Dean of TNM Randi Holta; Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technologies and Cybernetics of the TNM Professor Svein Hagen; Project Coordinator Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technologies and Cybernetics of the TNM Carlos Pfeiffer; Associate Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technologies and Cybernetics of the TNM Roshan Sharma; Professor of the Department of Process, Energy and Environmental Technology of the TNM Lars-Andre Tokheim; Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technologies and Cybernetics of the TNM Finn Haugen; Professor of the Department of Electrical Engineering, Information Technologies and Cybernetics of the TNM Burnt Lie; Institutional Coordinator of the ERASMUS+ program at the USN Espen Johansen.
During the project meeting, the Ukrainian side attended an international seminar and workshops organized and conducted by the TNM of the University of South-Eastern Norway in the frame of joint project on topics:
-Research-based education in innovative sustainable and energy efficient systems. Date: 12-13.11.2018. Venue: TNM USN, Porsgrunn, Kingdom of Norway;
-Development second and third cycles degree programmes in the European higher education area. Date: 14-15.11.2018. Venue: TNM USN, Porsgrunn, Kingdom of Norway.
During the project meeting, a number of issues were discussed on the prospects of cooperation in the educational and scientific spheres, in particular:
- achieved results and existing opportunities for further mobility of masters, post-graduates and faculty members of the project participants from both partner-faculties;
- evaluation of internship results of postgraduates of the IEE of the Igor Sikorsky KPI at the TNM of the University of South-Eastern Norway during the hearing and discussion of their scientific reports;
- enhancing the transfer of knowledge between both partner-faculties, in particular through joint management of scientific works and dissertation researches as well as preparation of joint publications of research results in the field of innovative sustainable and energy efficient systems;
- using by lecturers of both partner-faculties modern e-learning resources (tools) to prepare learning materials, in particular those that will be included in the e-library on the project web-site as course materials for the third cycle of studying in the direction of innovative sustainable and energy efficient systems.
According to the results of the project meeting, in order to enhance the transfer of knowledge and promote academic mobility of the teaching staff of both partner-faculties, decisions have been made on:
- reading of the English-language lectures by two lecturers from each of the two partner-faculties in 2019 in the mobility project between the Igor Sikorsky KPI and the University of South-Eastern Norway within the ERASMUS+ program and with the support of the project CPEA-LT-2016/10044. Guest lectures at the University of South-Eastern Norway under the ERASMUS+ program from the IEE of the Igor Sikorsky KPI in April 2019 will be reading by the project participants, Associate Professor Vladimir Popov and Associate Professor Halyna Strelkova;
- holding of the summer school in the first half of June 2019 in the IEE of the Igor Sikorsky KPI. The program, timetable and topics of the classes, listening audience (masters of the second cycle of studying), and lecturers from both partner-faculties were determined for the summer school. The summer school materials are scheduled to prepare and publish as a textbook written in English by lecturers of the summer school.
