Since 2021, a new form of first-level higher education (bachelor's degree) has been introduced at the department of power supply in the specialty 141 "Electric power engineering, electrical engineering and electromechanics" with the educational and professional programs "Electricity supply systems for consumers", "Energy management and energy-efficient technologies".
Dual education is an invaluable opportunity to strengthen the professional training of future specialists in the field, in particular the power industry, by working out the acquired theoretical material within the walls of the university directly in the conditions of real production.
The first set of students for the 2021/2022 academic year consisted of 17 people (Order 2021/2022 nr.). The training was carried out on the basis of the PRIVATE JOINT STOCK COMPANY "DTEK KYIV REGIONAL ELECTROMEREZHI" in accordance with the cooperation agreement between Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and DTEK KREM PJSC, an agreement on dual education, as well as tripartite agreements between KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi, PJSC "DTEK KREM" and each of the acquirers. As part of familiarizing students with the dual form of education at DTEK KREM and their subsequent selection, online meetings were held at which the wishes of the students were taken into account and the features of studying under the dual form were discussed (for more details, see the links: 2021, 2022).
In the conditions of a real enterprise, each of the students was assigned a mentor, they successfully mastered the disciplines "Relay protection and automation of power systems", "Occupational safety", "Dispatching of distribution networks", performing production functions in the relevant divisions as on-call electricians. Completion of training at KREM took place in the form of duplication in the position of "dispatcher". The successful graduation became the foundation of further cooperation between KPI named after Igor Sikorskyi and PJSC DTEK KREM.
The 2022/2023 academic year became a real test, including for educational activities. Despite all the difficulties, 2 students of the Department of Power Supply were admitted to PJSC "DTEK KREM" to obtain education under the dual form of education (Order 2022/2023 e.y.). Since January 2023, the bases of dual education have expanded, a corresponding agreement was concluded between OPEN JOINT STOCK COMPANY "TERNOPILOBLENERGO" and Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute, according to which 1 student of the department of electrical supply is studying in the dual form (Order of 2023).
In December 2022, constructive negotiations were held with representatives of PRIVATE JOINT STOCK COMPANY "DTEK KYIV ELECTROMEREZH" regarding the organization of a dual form of education (DTEK KEM1, DTEK KEM2) on the basis of this enterprise (DTEK KEM meeting).

Currently, the department has developed a clear procedure for the organization of students' training according to the dual form of education. The deputy head of the department for dual education has been appointed, and a curator from the department is attached to the students. The students who completed the training, gained the relevant experience, successfully work in the DTEK company in their specialty, gladly become mentors for the next "generations". One of the vivid examples is the student of the ON-p01 group, Bohdan Kryshtopaitys.
