Signing of the Memorandum on cooperation with Energoatom

State Agency on Energy Efficiency (http://saee.gov.ua), NNEGC "Energoatom" (http://www.energoatom.kiev.ua), Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management NTUU "KPI" (http://iee.kpi.ua) and the High Council of Energy Auditors and Energy Managers of Ukraine (http://ukrenergoaudit.org) have signed a joint Memorandum on cooperation in the field of energy efficiency.

Within the framework of the Memorandum, the parties will work on improving the energy efficiency of the NNEGC "Energoatom" facilities, in particular by introducing energy management systems and modern energy-efficient technologies at all levels.

Increasing the energy efficiency of state-owned enterprises is a driving factor for the development of the national economy.

"With the introduction of the energy management system, with minimal investment it is possible to reduce energy consumption by 10-20%. Energy savings should be spent on further energy efficiency measures," said Sergiy Savchuk, Head of the State Energy Efficiency and Energy Efficiency Agency.

S. Savchuk also reminded that the introduction of energy management systems at enterprises is foreseen by the 27th EU Energy Efficiency Directive. In most EU countries, all large companies have implemented energy management and regularly raise energy efficiency by 15-20%.

In turn, the Agency provided for the development and further approval of a series of national standards for the ISO 50000 series in relation to the implementation of energy management, which began in operation from September 2016. So, in Ukraine more than 150 enterprises have introduced and certified energy management systems.

In the framework of the signed Memorandum of State Department of State Energy Efficiency will provide advisory and methodological assistance in the process of implementation of the energy management system at NNEGC "Energoatom" and disseminate this experience among other enterprises.

President of NNEGC "Energoatom" Yuri Nedashkovsky stressed: "The development and implementation of energy policy will ensure the introduction of economically feasible energy saving and energy efficiency measures in the company. Such activities should provide a range of organizational, financial and economic benefits and, above all, reputational benefits, which will ultimately increase the productivity and competitiveness of Energoatom, as well as strengthen the trust of the company on the part of international financial institutions. "

Sergii Denysiuk, Director of the Institute of Energy Saving and Energy Management of NTUU "KPI named after Igor Sikorsky", noted the importance of Energoatom's initiative to increase energy efficiency of the company and assured that the Institute would provide all necessary assistance in the development and implementation of energy efficiency measures.

Vadim Ulyda, President of the "High Council of Energy Auditors and Energy Managers of Ukraine", said: "Nuclear power plants of the NNEGC" Energoatom "produce half of the electricity in the country. Implementation of the energy management system will have a significant economic effect for the company and will positively affect the reduction of the energy intensity of the Ukrainian economy, which is extremely important in today's conditions.
